The Recklessly Lashing Agency

It is still raining and after keeping the children busy for a while they might turn on the television for a while. How surprised I was to hear the very old song:” I am singing in the rain.” Very appropriate seen the weather right now.  That movie is really old but I was surprised to see it was all colored. They probably have the technology to color those old movies. I watched it for a while but the way it looked in full color did not give me the same nostalgic feeling I had as it was in black and white. And then my kids told me the movie was boring.

Since we have been traveling a lot, I have been interested in how to book a hotel the best possible way. And by that I mean how to get the best room for the least money. Somehow it is often not possible to book directly in the hotel reservation system for a price as low as some booking sites can offer. I don’t really know how this is possible as I would expect the hotel itself to be able to provide the best price; after all there is nobody else who should earn something from the booking. But no, often it pays off booking to big booking sites. This keeps on surprising me time after time.

All went well at the dentist. The kids teeth were perfect although the dentist said that the kids must brush their teeth a little bit longer. It is at least 2 minutes that they have to brush but when I don’t watch them they do it for 2 seconds. That is to less and I try to explain them that having good teeth is very important. I think the story which the dentist told my kids made them listening and in the car one of my sons told me that from now on he will brush for 3 minutes. Let’s hope he don’t forget that till this evening.

Within 2 weeks my sister and her children will visit us. They will come on a Monday very late in the evening. I always pick them up at the airport. Then it is only a one hour drive to our house. My piano teacher told me that her girlfriend will be on the same flight. Her girlfriend wanted to take the airport bus but if she is doing that she will be home after midnight. I proposed to give her a lift to our house and there she can take a cab to continue her travel to her friends home. She was very happy with my proposal.

I want an ironing lady. I don’t know if she exist but I want her! I really cannot find the time to ironing. We are lucky that we have a lot of clothes and we need them because I don’t have time to iron. Some people want a pool boy to help them out with the pool so why not an ironing lady. I think it will be a gap in the market. I have to find her and till that time the kids need to wear their clothes with wrinkles and my husband needs to iron his clothes himself if he don’t want to wear wrinkled clothes. Although it is quite fashionable these days to wear wrinkled clothes. I have to convince him of that clothes with wrinkles are very fashionable.

Oh no! I have broken the tubing of the vacuum cleaner. The tube was somewhere fixed and I pulled it back and suddenly I had only one piece of the tube in my hands. I tried to fix it with a piece of tube I found in the garage of another old vacuum cleaner but no luck. That piece did not fit on the tube. Then I found some silver tape in the garage. That tape is good for everything and within a few minutes my tube was fixed and I could carefully vacuum again. It is not as steady as it was and I think I have to buy a completely new tube but for the moment it is okay. Maybe my handy husband can fix it in a proper way. But for the next coming days my house clean enough.
